{Sending Love} by My Mind's Eye

Growing up my mother always told me that I "was in love with the idea of being in love." I can honestly say that she was spot on. Love stories had my heart so naturally Valentine's Day was one of my favorite days of the year. Not much has changed since I was little, and I still consider Valentine's Day to be just as magical and special as Christmas and Easter.

When I came across My Mind's Eye's {Sending Love} collection, my heart skipped a beat and my eyes turned to hearts as they bulged out my head (think Looney Tunes lol). The beautiful shades of pink that the collection offers was one of the first things I noticed as well as how vibrant the colors were. This collection looks just as vibrant in real life and did not disappoint.

I chose to use two different fabrics from the {Sending Love} collection: the White Sending Love Main (the floral) and the Pink Sending Love Hearts. My attention first fell on the floral fabric. The girly nature of it sold me immediately. Picking a coordinating fabric was a bit trickier since I loved them all!! But, ultimately I decided on the pink hearts, so that their would be no doubt that this was a Valentine's piece!!

The moment I ordered the fabrics I knew I was going to use Duchess and Hare's A La Heart pinafore pattern. Not only was the pattern perfect because of the heart shaped bodice, but I felt it was the perfect way to showcase both fabrics without them competing with each other. I used the pink hearts for the bib and straps, while the floral was used for the waistband and skirt. I did layer a red Carter's onesie underneath just to keep her a little warmer!

I did modify the A La Heart pattern by making the heart bodice a full heart instead of the partial that the pattern gives. I followed the instructions on the Duchess and Hare blog to complete it (you can find the post HERE
